Another test burger for Joni. It’s becoming regular on a Friday night and I get very excited choosing which burger to try. it’s going to be a great book! This time I tried the All American burger. It involved a new ingredient for me – vital wheat gluten. It’s almost impossible to get in the UK but I’d ordered some on-line a while back with the idea of making seitan. I’ve never got round to it so I was more than happy to use some of it in the burger. I think it’s slightly different to the one Joni uses as it wasn’t enough to make burgers stick together well. Next time I’ll use a bit more. I made a quick BBQ sauce to go with it. The burgers were incredibly meaty!
